“ We were in San Augustine to pick up some things and decided to get something to eat. Just up the street was this grill. We liked everything about it. Their "Customers Wanted" sign on the street was awesome. The atmosphere inside was just as awesome. Everyone was friendly and the service was great. Thank you Elisabeth!! The food is well prepared and delicious. Definitely we will return when we get back up there. ”

“ Great Service! Their food is so good. Deluxe Nachos to, gumbo, burgers, fried large shrimp, huge portions. Chicken fried steak is Superb!! Ribs are spot on! They only have beer wine and One Great Tasting Margareta!! Only negative thing is they close sometimes 8 or 9pm when I just want to eat, drink and hang out for a bit it's closing time. So Bring the family and come out Specials are Friday and Saturday nights! More the Marrier! ”

On the down side, it was only 1/2 the salad bar I'm used to seeing, but that may only be a lunch thing? Great servers, large portions, attentive servers, fair prices, convenient location. ”
“ CLOSED! H.O.T. Grill is now open in this location. We eat at Heart of Texas Grill frequently! They have a wonderful fresh salad bar, a delicious grilled chicken breast, and great burgers! My husband, David, and I are eating dinner at H. O. T. Grill, on a warm Tuesday evening. It's nice to have a restaurant in San Augustine, Texas, that serves wine and beer. My husband is loving the salad barno, and I am enjoying chicken fried steak, French fries, coleslaw and toast. The salad bar is fresh, diverse and well-maintained. Note: There were four dirty booths, with baskets, crumpled napkins and the remains of meals covering them, as we entered the restaurant. It sadly took us a bit to find a low table that's comfortable to sit at with a bad knee. ”
